To enable your SonyEricsson W810i camera phone to read or scan QR Codes and Datamatrix Codes, you must first install code reader software on your device. Kaywa, a Swiss company that provides mobile blogging solutions, offers free QR and Datamatrix code readers.

There are two ways to download and install the software on your phone. The first and preferred method is to use you phone’s web browser to download and install the reader. The second, and sometimes more troublesome way, is to download the installation files to your PC or Mac and then transfer those files to your phone.

Once you have installed the Kaywa code reading software, you can test your phone by visiting the Kaywa test page. You should be able to scan codes directly from your computer monitor or print the codes and scan them from paper.

Install via direct mobile download

Step 1 - Point your mobile phone browser to http://reader.kaywa.com.

Step 2 - Register for a Kaywa account.

Step 3 - The Kaywa web site will automatically determine if your phone is supported and install the software if you are using a supported device.

Install via computer to your phone.

Step 1 - Go to the Kaywa Reader page.

Step 2 - Register for a free account.

Step 3 - Select SonyEricsson and the SonyEricsson W810i phone.

Step 4 - Download and Install the software on your phone.
